Proceedings of the South Indian History Congress

The Proceedings of the South Indian History Congress is a research journal with ISSN 2229-3671, publishing every year. It is a publication of research papers presented by scholars and researchers in the annual session of the South Indian History Congress held in the previous year. Only those research papers presented and recommended by the Chairman of the academic session are only considered for publication. Moreover, the research paper for publication is selected after the scrutiny of the Peer Review Committee and the Editorial Board.

Editorial Board

The publication of the Journal is done under the supervision of an Editorial Board consisting of an Editor and four committee members. The Chief Editor and members of the Board are nominated by the Executive Committee of SIHC from among the well experienced and reputed members of the Organization for a period of two years. Peer Review Committee

A Peer Review Committee consisting of the senior and well experienced members of the South Indian History Congress is constituted for the scrutiny of research papers. The Peer Review committee before recommending a paper for presentation and publication may examine the papers in matters of its authenticity, originality, and other basic qualities in accordance with the Style Manual. Guidelines For Submission Of Research Papers

Scholars submitting research articles for presentation and publication must strictly adhere to the guidelines prescribed by the South Indian History Congress.

All papers must be uploaded through the official registration platform in Microsoft Word format only. The Title Page should include the full title of the paper, the name(s) of the author(s), complete postal address, membership status and number (if applicable), phone number, and email ID.

Only papers written in English will be considered for inclusion in the Journal. Each submission must begin with a brief abstract of approximately 100 words, followed by a list of keywords.

This should be followed by a brief abstract of approximately 100 words summarising the subject discussed in the paper. Conclude with a list of relevant keywords to support indexing and thematic classification.

Manuscripts should be word-processed using Times New Roman, 12-point font, with double line spacing and one-inch margins on all sides. Page numbers may be included on all pages.

Endnotes should be used to cite sources, numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, ...). The standard format for endnotes/footnotes must be followed, ensuring clarity and completeness of source information. Web sources must include the full URL along with the date and time of access.

Submissions must be original in content and presentation, focusing on the history, society, and culture of South India, and should contribute fresh insights or interpretations to the field of historical research. Plagiarism in any form will not be tolerated, and authors bear full responsibility for the content and opinions expressed in their papers.

Papers that do not conform to the prescribed style and format will not be considered for publication. Priority will be given to papers submitted through the portal on or before the deadline. Each delegate is permitted to present only one paper at the conference.

The Editorial Board, in consultation with the Peer Review Committee, reserves the right to review, edit, or reject any submission deemed unsuitable for publication in the Journal.

Price of Each Copy and Back Volumes

The price of the hard copy of the Journal is fixed at Rupees 500 and rupees 250 for the soft copy in CD/DVD form. The back volumes of the Journal are sold with a discount of 10 to 30 per cent. Back volumes of the Proceedings are available with the General Secretary of the Organization.

Copy Right

The General Secretary of the South Indian History Congress is the publisher of the Journal and she owns the copy right of the journal and articles published. Those scholars who publish the same papers in other books, academic journals have to seek the permission of the General Secretary for using the same data. The Executive Committee is responsible for changes in the provisions of copy right of the research articles published by the Proceedings of the South Indian History Congress.
